RallyCross Committee Charter
Committee Objectives
Consistent with its authority under Article IV “Administration” of the By Laws of the Washington DC Region SCCA Inc. (WDCR), the Board of Directors (Board) hereby establishes a RallyCross Committee (“RXC”) to regulate the RallyCross activities of the Region. The RXC shall ensure that all RallyCross events conducted by WDCR provide a positive experience for participants that emphasizes safety and operates in conformance with the Sports Car Club of America’s (SCCA) RallyCross Rules. The RXC shall ensure that all national and regional RallyCross events conducted by WDCR provide a positive and competitive experience for drivers and that all participants have an opportunity to compete safely and in conformance with the Sports Car Club of America’s (SCCA) RallyCross rules. The RXC is expected to consider both membership and financial implications in their actions.
Committee Responsibilities
The RXC’s responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Suggest new RallyCross events that enhance the member value of the Region’s RallyCross program.
- Determine what RallyCross events are in the best interest of WDCR members and WDCR’s financial success.
- Maintain supplementary rules for WDCR RallyCross events.
- Organize and execute all WDCR RallyCross events.
RallyCross Chairman
The Board will appoint a RallyCross Chairman from the members of the RXC who will serve as the chair and will organize and direct the activities of the RXC.
RX Committee Composition
The RXC shall be composed of no less than 5 members. As a minimum the committee shall be composed two (2) SCCA licensed Safety Stewards and 3 other SCCA members. All RXC members need have competed in a minimum of 10 RallyCross events. Committee members are appointed annually by the RXC Chairman. All RXC members are expected, as part of their duties, to actively seek the input of the region's RallyCross community regarding matters before the RXC and to fairly and accurately present the suggestions they receive to the committee.
Decision Making Procedures
The RXC should reach decisions by consensus. However, absent a clear consensus, the RXC Chairman will call for a vote. For a matter to be approved by a vote, it must be approved by a majority of the voting members. RXC members are expected to perform their duties with respect for their fellow members.
