MARRS Labor Day Charity Event Wrap-Up

Last weekend's Labor Day Charity event benefited the Cancer Society's "Relay for Life".  Over $16,200 dollars was raised - so far!!  We still have a few donations coming in - and - we have four DC Region members who have all pledged an additional amount, and here's where we all can help.  For every member who votes in our current election, these individuals have pledged $1 each.  We have had over 300 people vote so far, so that's at least another $1,200 for the charity!  Now we have two great reasons to vote, so please make sure you do.

In addition to the funds raised, a great time was had by young and old with parade laps, exotic car rides, white elephant, raffles and more.  And - there was some really great racing going on all weekend!  Saturday started out a bit wet, but the rest of the weekend held up with wonderful weather.

Mike High was the winner of our Worker Contest - he received a $100 gift card and additional random drawings for the workers gave out more gift cards as well.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to Shirley Thompson for once again leading the charge and to her whole team and all the volunteers who worked so hard to put together such a terrific event.  It was truly another great success for our Region!
