MARRSThe D.C. Region is host to the Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Series, one of the largest and most successful club level racing series in the country.

 

 

We're also host to 12 Hours At The Point, a 12 hour long endurance race for Show Room Stock and Improved Touring cars, as well as a few other classes.

 

Do you want to go racing?  We host a driver's school each spring (and sometimes fall) that will prepare you for your own competition driver's license.

 

SCCA Club RacingEach spring, the Region holds the first round of the North East Division (NEDiv) NESCCA Championship at our home track, Summit Point.

2010 Labor Day Charity Event

Planning for the 2010 Labor Day Charity Event, to be held on Saturday, September 4th, is underway!  Many thanks to Wendy Collins, who is organizing the event festivities!

 

This year's Charities are Jackson's Toy Box, benefiting Dr. Bear's Closet at Children's National Medical Center, and Middleway Volunteer Fire Department, one of the fire departments that serves Summit Point Raceway.

IMPACT decertification

The CRB has issued a statement regarding the use of IMPACT safety equipment. 

 

"Effective immediately, specific products manufactured by Impact Racing, LLC prior to 2009 are decertified and do not meet the criteria for SCCA competition as required by our General Competition Rules (GCR)."

Attention MARRS Parents!

A new group has been formed for non-racing co-partners in the Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Series with small children to organize get togethers/side-trips etc. when at Summit Point or at out of region races.  Fathers, mothers and significant others are welcome!  The purpose of the group is to facilitate interaction at the track for those with small children.

2010 MARRS Preferred Numbers!

It is time to claim your preferred MARRS number for the 2010 season.  If you have met the criteria, your number from 2009 has already been assigned to your account.  To see the full list of assigned and claimed numbers, click here.

Once numbers are claimed, they are reserved for the entire 2010 MARRS season.  Unused numbers for each MARRS event will be released after on-line registration closes prior to that event.

SCCA introduces the Annual Waiver Hard Card

The SCCA is pleased to announce the Annual Waiver and hard card program.  The program allows members presenting a current SCCA Photo ID Hard Card at all SCCA sanctioned events to enter without signing the SCCA event waiver form.

CHANGES TO SUPPS FOR 2010


 

 

Registration Close and Late Dates

The "Late Date" for Club Racing events is the Wednesday, 3 days prior to the event.  Any registrations received after noon on that Wednesday will include a $50 fee.  On-line registration through DLB Racing will also close at noon on Wednesday, 3 days prior to each event.  All registrations after that time must be handled at the track, and will include the $50 Late Fee.  NOTE: subsequent entries for folks who have previuosly regsitered and paid through the on-line registration system for the first entry may have the second $50 Late Fee refunded after the event.

 

One Entry Fee, Two Races

Check the schedule for each MARRS event; there are 9 Race Groups this year with 2 days of racing.  Saturday will have 10 lap or 20 minute races following qualifying sessions.  Sunday race length will be determined by the number of qualified cars in that group.  For groups qualifying up to 19 cars, the Sunday race length will be 16 laps or 32 minutes.  For groups qualifying 20-34 cars, 18 laps or 36 minutes.  For groups qualifying 35 or more cars, 20 laps or 40 minutes.

 

Hard-Copy Registration

There is an extra $25 fee for handling when any registration is submitted without using the on-line system.  Entry forms may still be mailed or faxed, but must include the handling fee to be processed.

 

Use the on-line system to Cancel Registration

Failure to withdraw by 12:00 pm on the first business day following the event will result in forfeiture of all fees paid.  All cancelations must be processed through the on-line system, which can be done even after the event closes for submitting registrations.  For processing a withdrawal after the event, contact the Region Office for assistance at (301) 572-7444 or (800) 879-4722.
